It is this inward response which is delivered, that is very much shown by them, as various types of feelings over the span of the game. World War I Essay Example for Free

World War I Essay Presentation  â â â â â â â â â â The war started in the mid of May, year 1914. A Bosnian Serb understudy, Gavrilo Princip, discharged shots from his pistol under an oak tree, planning to kill Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the sole beneficiary to the Habsburg position of authority, the Austria-Hungary incomparability. This occurred as he and his significant other visited Sarajevo, the Bosnian capital. The plot to kill the archduke is a piece of Princip’s preparing and it was coordinated by Colonel Dragutin Dimitrijevic, also called the â€Å"Apis†, or â€Å"The Bull†. Colonel Dragutin Dimitrijevic is the leader of the Serbian military knowledge during the hour of assasination.â Bosnia-Hercegovina, at that point, was under the standard of Austria-Hungary, that which Archduke Franz Ferdinand is planned to succeed. Princip didn't just effectively achieve the homicide of the archduke. He fired a shot that murdered his significant other, Sofie, also. She died in a couple of moments minutes with his significant other (Strachan 1998).  â â â â â â â â â â This single occurrence of this death set off the First World War, which is additionally alluded to as â€Å"The War to End All Wars†. It was in July 28 of that year that Austria-Hungary proclaimed war against Serbia. From the start, this should be the third Balkan war, however it did in the long run become the World War I. At first, the Austrian government might want to Serbia to assume liability of what had occurred and to completely permit Austrian agents to participate for the situation examination and procedures. Now, Austria-Hungary was at that point guaranteed of a selective, unequivocal help by the Germans, should the war break out. The Serbian government, then again, has had the option to request the help of Russia, which is now considered as a major amazing country at that point. Serbia consented to all terms exposed to them, but to the one that permits the association of the Austrian operators for the situation. Serbia accepted this is another issue of infringement of their effectively defaced power by a similar country (Strachan 1998).  â â â â â â â â â â Both Russia and Austria-Hungary activated their armed forces during the long stalemate. Germany, be that as it may, set a final offer to Russia to stop their military preparation in no under 12 hours. After the final proposal has lapsed and Russia didn't react, Germany at that point pronounced war on Russia. Germany began with the control of Luxembourg, expecting to get Belgium as well.â The German needed a free section from Belgium into France, yet the previous differ to it. During this point in time, Belgium, France, and Britain are all on unbiased situation with respect to the war. Be that as it may, by August 3, Germany proclaimed war on France and attacked Belgium in light of the fact that their free section was not conceded (Strachan 1998). This at that point activated Britain to pronounce war against Germany. In this way, the arrangement of the Allied Powers, drove by Britain, France, and Russia happened. Later on, they are participate by Italy and the United States armed force. They all join in full power against the Central Powers, which, then again, were made out of Germany, Austria-Hungary, and the Ottoman Empire. The Ottoman Empire, which can likewise be viewed as the Turkish Empire, joined the First World War because of a mystery Ottoman-German Alliance that is marked in August 1914. Russia was a long-term foe of the Ottoman Empire, and this is the fundamental motivation behind why they decided to be on the Central Power’s side, regardless of whether there host been a few gatherings in their side who are agreeable to collusion with the Allied powers rather (Strachan 1998). America’s Position in World War I  â â â â â â â â â â Prior to 1917, the American situation on the First World War was nonpartisan and unprejudiced, much the same as that of Britain’s before the statement of war with France. The then president, President Woodrow Wilson, mirrors the open state of mind of residual that way and taught the Congress to do and keep up so. The Washingtonians and the entire country as a rule, completely upheld this position. America maintained its situation of demanding impartial rights. They are additionally planning to effectively arrange harmony in every single other spot that has obtained worry because of the strains achieved the war bubbling in Europe. In any case, America has one stand which is based from its own masterfulness and pride. Also, that isn't to endure unlimited submarine fighting. The American country accepts that viola encroachment of this would bring about the infringement of their separate national respect (Goldstein and Maihafer 2004).  â â â â â â â â â â at the outset, Germany consented to this sole arrangement. They halted unlimited submarine fighting, yet just for the present. It is by January that they freely declared that they would keep on doing as such. It was in this year that Britain overwhelmed the oceans, and they have done as such for a long time going before the war.â This made the State of America altogether destroy its lack of bias and join the powers of the Allied Powers, as a partner. To counter America’s reaction, Germany even charged Mexico to join the war adjacent to them and be their partner against the United States. This occurrence powered and further incensed the American populace and feeling. By April 16, 1917, the United States announced war against the Germans, as mentioned by President Wilson. The U.S. Place of Representatives in like manner endorsed the goals to get the First World War together with a high edge of ace war votes at 373-50. The US Senate stuck to this same pattern with a 82-6 stand likewise for the nation’s endorsement to join the now much praised war (Goldstein and Maihafer 2004).  â â â â â â â â â â The American starting situation on the war, as a general rule, appears to settle on its choice to enter it moderately more outlandish. America is on an unbiased stand, and would liable to stay impartial had the Germans didn't ventured out extreme that in any case quiet position (Goldstein and Maihafer 2004). Indeed, even before America’s association in this war, the entire overseeing body, including every one of its kin, ceaselessly follows the reasonable direction of its past president, President George Washington in his goodbye address, as conveyed on September 17, 1796. Also, that is to avoid any changeless partnership in any bit of the remote world. The individuals and the administration of America stayed consistent with this announcement, until after its own poise was stomped on upon and had to join the First World War. Furthermore, that solitary occasion made it simple for the whole country to participate in an alliance against the very individuals who endeavored to invest wholeheartedly out of the entire nation (Klose and Lader 2001). Be that as it may, following the occasions of the First World War, the German individuals seemed to purposefully conflict with the United States’ assertion of no unhindered submarine fighting. That is the main position that the American country mentioned with the clashing powers, however that straightforward solicitation was not conceded. Germany, in their own guarded and hostile strategies, thought that it was fitting to proceed with their assault, for reasons only they know (Klose and Lader 2001). Given this situation, it appears as though that that entire conditions was arranged and alleviated, with the mean to drag the Americans into the war. The Germans, by then, accept that they could stroll over America and their entire armed force. In any case, they were agonizingly off-base. They had thought little of the military offense of the American power and they really appear to have mentioned for their destruction significantly increasingly, after they had chosen to include the Americans (Klose and Lader 2001). The American mounted guns united with the British and the French, and the American soldiers are not dissipated or separated to strengthen the British or the French armed force. They battled as one gathering, one country, against one reason. The Effects of American Involvement on the Home Front  â â â â â â â â â â America’s investment and triumph in the First World War has a lot of beneficial and disadvantageous focuses. Above all else, directly after the war, the United States, just as her different partners, in particular Britain and Italy, encountered an expansion in their individual Gross Domestic Product or GDP. While measurements advise that that apparently has diminished in partners France and Russia, the American countries have most likely picked up from the lift. Be that as it may, on the Central Power’s side, there was a shocking shrinkage of as much as 30% to 40% in their individual GDP’s (Hibbard 1919). It is additionally accepted that the best and the most significant thing that the war at any point added to the American country is as advances and supplies that are given and are sent to the Allies. As a proof, a ton of cash was raised by bond deals, which is much when contrasted with those raised by charges. The expense of the war was evaluated to be US $35 billion, and about $10 billion of that went to the Allies as advances. The entire American Nation picked up from this, as the British and the remainder of the powers started to reimburse their advances back to the United States (Hibbard 1919). The First World War likewise brought about the development of the military forces of the then disparaged American country. America was not even remotely contrasted with the British Empire or the other incredible nations previously. But since of their help and triumph of the First World War, the American individuals and government got mindful of what they can do with their military forces. This is the introduction of America being a super force, as far as weaponry assault and strategic offense. To be sure, America was renewed to that of a monster, a mammoth as far as its national solidness, power and force (Hibbard 1919). The First World War likewise realized American

Moving From Korea to the US My Experience

Moving From Korea to the US My Experience Moving From Korea to the US: My Experience By Eileen Ahn Moving from Korea to California in the US for my education has been a transformative experience. Back in Korea, most of what we owned as a family had been a combination of thrift store purchases and the generosity of family and strangers alike. Growing up in my personal swap meet, I never perceived our situation to be financially dire because kids just see the world in a simpler way. Despite the comfort of close family, stable jobs, and fluency in language, our parents brought my brother and me to America in the hope that we would pursue a better education than they had been able to receive. Adapting to this new environment and learning to live in a new culture was a challenge, but whenever I felt discriminated against, hurt by condescending comments from those who have lived here longer, or frustrated by snarky remarks that undermined my work ethic simply because I’m Asian, my mom was there to support me. In that confidence, I found my way. Had we stayed in Korea, I know without an ounce of doubt that my routine would have been study, study, and more study. There, school starts at 8am and kids don’t return home until well after 10pm. Here, I have the freedom to choose my path by allowing myself to be myself. I love pursuing the academic subjects I’ve chosen, having the time to help acclimate incoming freshman to their new environment, and advocating for environmental justice or other issues I’m passionate about. I understand why we moved here in the first place, struggles and all. Here, I discovered the vast resources that help people like us focus on finding happiness and dreaming enormously big. I find I have a passion to create something, which wouldn’t have existed without access to higher education. I want to show that perhaps even an immigrant girl from a small town in Seoul can someday become the professor who uplifts students who are following in my footsteps. Eventually, I want to help create a new environment, where the term minority will not serve to define women of color in STEM, where low-income students will feel powerful enough to strive for prestigious schools without self-doubt. I look towards the future knowing now it’s my turn to help others.

Mananaging Social Anxiety Disorder - Free Essay Example

MANAGING SOCIAL ANXIETY DISORDER INTRODUCTION 1. The concept of fear dated back as far as 400 BC. During this time, Hippocrates, an ancient Greek physician described the overly shy person as â€Å"someone who loves darkness as life and thinks every man observes him†. When fear is persistent and exaggerated, it results to tension and stress and consequently, anxiety. 2. The Concise Oxford Dictionary defines anxiety as â€Å"a nervous disorder marked by a feeling of uneasiness†. An anxiety disorder involves an excessive or inappropriate state of arousal characterized by feelings of apprehension, uncertainty, or fear. There are seven common types of anxiety disorders. They include generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and phobias. Others are, post-traumatic stress disorder, separation disorder, and social anxiety disorder (SAD) which is the focus of this paper. 3. The Microsoft Encarta defines SAD as â€Å"the fear of being public ly scrutinized and humiliated†. It exceeds normal fear and sometimes leads to excessive social avoidance and substantial social or occupational impairment. The fear may be made worse by a lack of social skills or experience in social situations. 4. The most common type of SAD is the fear of public speaking or performing in front of an audience. While everyone must have experienced anxiety at one point in time, people with SAD suffer from anxiety almost all the time. Sometimes, it can be so severe that they begin to experience panic. Sadly, most of these individuals think they can never control their fears or find a way out of this condition. While this may be true, it is important to note that effects of SAD can be resolved. The purpose of this paper therefore is to highlight ways of dealing with SAD. The paper will take a look at the types of SAD and the causes of SAD. Thereafter it will focus on the signs and symptoms of SAD and lastly it will examine the possible ways of managing SAD. AIM 5. The aim of this paper is to discuss the management of SAD. TYPES OF SAD 6. There are two main types of SAD. They are: a. Generalised SAD. b. Specific SAD. 7. Generalised SAD. A generalized SAD refers to fears associated with most social and performance situations such as speaking to authority figures, going on dates, starting conversations, and giving speeches. It is a more severe form of anxiety disorder and is thus, usually accompanied by greater impairment in day-to-day functioning. . Specific SAD. Specific SAD involves the fear a particular situation. For example, an individual may be able to dance comfortably in a party yet have a dreadful fear of speaking in public. Therefore the individual avoids public speaking as much as possible. CAUSES OF SAD 9. The causes of SAD include the following: a. Hereditary factors such as genes and abnormal chromosomes. b. Over protective upbringing thereby causing the child to lack self initiative or self confidence. c. Parental deprivation or attention-deficit causing the child to become withdrawn even when in the company of others. . Psychosocial factors which deals with the physical and psychological aspects of an individual. SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF SAD 10. According to Sidney Herbert, a social psychologist, the signs and symptoms of SAD can be viewed from 3 main aspects. They are: a. Cognitive Aspects. b. Behavioural Aspects. c. Physiological Aspects. 11. Cognitive Aspects. In cognitive models of SAD, social phobics experience great anticipation over how they will be presented to others. They may be overly self-conscious, pay high self-attention after the activity, or have high performance standards for themselves. Many times, prior to the potentially anxiety-provoking social situation, sufferers may deliberately go over what could go wrong and how to deal with each unexpected case. Consequently, they may have the perception they performed unsatisfactory. 12. Behavioural Aspects. The behaviou ral symptoms of SAD manifest in individuals when faced with almost any type of social interaction. Possible symptoms such as the mind going blank, increased heartbeat, blushing, stomach ache, nausea, and gagging may occur, thus resulting in self-defeating and inaccurate thoughts. 13. Physiological Aspects. Physiological effects, similar to those in other anxiety disorders, are present in social phobics. For example, when faced with an uncomfortable situation, children with SAD may display tantrums, weeping, clinging to parents, and shutting themselves out. In adults, it may manifest as tears, excessive sweating, nausea, shaking, and palpitations as a result of the fight-or-flight response. Additionally, blushing may be exhibited by the individuals thus, further reinforcing the anxiety in the presence of others. POSSIBLE WAYS OF MANAGING SAD 14. SAD could be managed in the following ways: a. Reducing physical symptoms of anxiety. b. Challenging Negative Thoughts. c. Gradually F acing Your Fears. 15. Reducing Physical Symptoms of Anxiety. Many changes happen in the body when a person becomes anxious. One of the first changes is that the individual experiences an increased breathing rate. Breathing rapidly throws off the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the body thereby, triggering additional physical anxiety symptoms such as dizziness, a feeling of suffocation, increased heart rate, and muscle tension. Learning to slow down breathing can help bring physical symptoms of anxiety back under control. In addition to deep breathing exercises, regular practice of relaxation techniques such as meditation, yoga, and progressive muscle relaxation will also help one get control thereby reducing the physical symptoms of anxiety. 16. Challenging Negative Thoughts. People who suffer from SAD usually have negative thoughts and beliefs that contribute to their anxiety. For example, thoughts such as â€Å"I know I will end up looking like a fool†, â€Å"pe ople will think I am stupid†, or â€Å"I will not have anything to say† often reoccur. Challenging these negative thoughts, either through therapy or on your own, is one effective way to reduce the symptoms of SAD. The first step is to identify the automatic negative thoughts that underlie your fear of social situations. The next step is to analyze and challenge them. Through logical evaluations of negative thoughts, a person can gradually replace them with more realistic and positive ways of looking at social situations that trigger anxiety, therefore gradually eliminating that particular fear. 17. Gradually Facing Your Fears. One of the most helpful things you can do to overcome SAD is to face the social situations you fear rather than avoid them. Avoidance keeps SAD going. It prevents you from becoming more comfortable in social situations and learning how to cope. In fact, the more you avoid a feared social situation, the more frightening it becomes. The key i s to start with a situation that you can handle and gradually, work your way up to more challenging situations. In addition, improving your communication skills helps as good relationships depend on clear, emotionally-intelligent communication. This would greatly assist in reducing SAD. CONCLUSION 18. Fear and stress reactions are essential for human survival. They enable people to pursue important goals and to respond appropriately to danger. However, when fear becomes so intense particularly when confronted with social functions, it is could result to SAD. 19. SAD may be of the general type which is a more severe form of anxiety disorder and is thus, usually accompanied by greater impairment in day-to-day functioning. Specific SAD on the other hand involves the fear a particular situation. 20. SAD may be caused by factors ranging from hereditary to psychosocial and the signs and symptoms could be visible from cognitive, behavioural or physiological perspectives. 1. While most p eople with SAD think they can never find remedy to their condition, methods such as reducing physical symptoms of anxiety, challenging negative thoughts and gradually facing your fears could help in managing the condition. Back to School Top Tips to Help Students Settle In

As soon as your students set foot in the classroom on the first day of school, its important to make them feel welcome and comfortable. Students spend the majority of their day in the classroom and the more you can do to make it feel like a second home, the better. Here are the top 6 ways to welcome students back to school after a long summer break. Send Home a Welcome Packet A few weeks before school starts, send home a welcome letter  introducing yourself. Include things like how many pets you have, if you have children, things you like to do outside of school. This will help students (and their parents) connect with you on a personal level. You can also include specific information in the packet such as supplies needed, the expectations you have for them throughout the year, class schedule and rules, etc. so they are prepared ahead of time. This welcome packet will help put students at ease and help alleviate those first day jitters that they might have. Create an Inviting Classroom One of the easiest ways to welcome students is to create an inviting classroom. Your classroom should feel warm and inviting from the second they enter the door on day one. A great way for students to feel like their classroom is theirs is to include them in the classroom decorating process. During the first weeks back to school, encourage students to create drawings and projects that can be displayed in the classroom. Conduct a Teacher Interview Even if youve  provided some basic information about yourself in the welcome packet, students may still have a few questions once they get to the classroom. On the first day of school, have students partner up and prepare a few questions for a personal interview with you. Once each interview is over, gather the class as a whole and have each team choose their favorite question and answer to share with the rest of the class. Provide a Story Beginning on the first day of school, set the mood each morning with a story. In the first few weeks, students may be feeling uneasy and insecure. To alleviate these feelings and let students know that they are not feeling alone, choose a different story each morning. Books are a great way to open up communication about how the students are feeling. Here are a few recommended books to use during the first week of school. First Day Jitters, By Julie DannenbergSplat the Cat: Back to School, Splat! by Rob ScottonBack to School Rules, By Laurie B. FreidmanThe Night Before First Grade, By Natasha WingHow I Spent My Summer Vacation, By Mark Teague Create a Scavenger Hunt A scavenger hunt can help students become familiar with their new classroom. For younger students, create a list with pictured clues that they need to find and check off as they go. Include items such as find the puzzles, book corner, cubbie, etc. For the older students, create a checklist and list things such as look for the homework basket, look for the class rules, etc. Continue with items to find in and around the classroom. Once the scavenger hunt is completed, have them hand their completed sheet in for a prize.   Provide Ice Breaker Activities The first day of school can be very awkward when students do not recognize any familiar faces. To break the ice and thaw out some of the first day jitters, provide a few fun activities like two truths and a lie, a human scavenger hunt, or trivia.

The Third Amendment Conservative Perspectives

No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.The Third Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects American citizens from being forced to use their homes to board members of the U.S. military. The amendment does not extend the same privilege to American citizens during times of war. The laws relevance diminished greatly after the American Civil War and is largely archaic in the 21st Century. During the American Revolution, colonists were frequently forced to house British soldiers on their property during times of war and peace. Very often, these colonists would find themselves being forced to put up and feed entire regiments of the Crown, and the soldiers werent always good house guests. Article III of the Bill of Rights was created to do away with the troublesome British law, known as the Quartering Act, that permitted this practice. In the 20th century, however, members of the U.S. Supreme Court have referenced the Third Amendment in privacy rights cases. In most recent cases, however, the Ninth and Fourteenth amendments are cited more frequently and are more applicable to defending Americans right to privacy.Although it is occasionally the subject of far-fetched lawsuits, there have been a few cases in which the Third Amendment played an important role. For that reason, the amendment has never suffered a significant challenge for repeal. For conservatives generally, and cultural conservatives, in particular, the Third Amendment serves as a reminder of this nations early struggles against oppression.

Putting A Tax On Junk Food Essay - 1943 Words

That has gone without, including paying for breakfast to be held in schools as kids won’t be getting a decent breakfast at home because their parents and guardians would have to pay more for the food that they want. However, I personally don’t agree with this statement, from my perspective, putting a tax on junk food won’t necessarily eradicate the obesity and type 2 diabetes epidemics from overconsuming junk foods, but it will reduce the consumption by a certain amount, however it’s something that’s not going to happen overnight. This is similar to smoking in the sense that smoking is taxed because it’s pernicious not only to the person concerned, but the society around them and even though smoking is taxed, people are still prepared to buy cigarettes at a ridiculously expensive price so they can still smoke, but the number of people that smoke has decreased by a reasonable amount. Therefore if the government puts a tax on junk food it will have a corresponding effect as to how smoking was taxed. The government must establish a tax on all unhealthy foods and uses the money to subsidize fruit and vegetables and promote and educate healthy eating in schools. Signature: Troy Lamontagne Date: Saturday 3rd July 2010 WHAT IS MARKETING RESEARCH? WHY IS IT NEEDED BY COMPANIES? a. Definitions and Objectives: Green and Tull have defined marketing research as â€Å"†¦ the systematic and objective search for, and analysis of, information relevant to the identification and solution of any problem in the field of marketing. † It seeks to understand the best ways to connect a consumer and a product, with the hope that the consumer will buy. This involves assessing the marketing strategy in use for that product or product line, and finding out whether they are working. This also involves studying the marketing techniques of other companies. Marketers begin research with a problem or a question. They want to know why a particular market is doing well or not doing well and what can be done to change that. They may also want to know why consumers are not buying some products, but purchasing similar products. Research is then done to answer the question, and that answer can be turned into a marketing technique that may get better results. There are two types of marketing research. The first is consumer market research. The goal is to study the purchasing habits of consumers. This can be done by tallying up how much of a product is sold, through surveys or via other means. The information gathered from consumers can be used to analyze current marketing campaigns and to create new ones. The second type of marketing research is business to business research, which studies how businesses sell products and services to other businesses. For example, Company A sells computer equipment to companies B and C. Someone may be interested in seeing how companies B and C found out about the equipment, how company A marketed its product and how good the market for that product is. Some of the important business decisions that a market research helps and aids is product line, choice of a good location, sales projections, pricing strategy, where to advertise, offering credit, how much capital might be required, how much floor space might be required, how much inventory might be ordered, how much equipment and supplies would be required or how many employees should be hired. Explanation and Process: As an aspect of marketing activities, marketing research can be broken down into primary and secondary research. Primary research, involves the compilation of research for the purpose it was intended. Secondary research, is initially conducted for one purpose, but often used to support another purpose. By these definitions, an example of primary research would be market research conducted into health foods, which is used solely to ascertain the needs/wants of the target market for health foods. Secondary research, according to the above definition, would be research pertaining to health foods, but used by a firm wishing to develop an unrelated product. There also exist other modes of marketing research: Exploratory research has the goal of formulating problems more precisely, clarifying concepts, gathering explanations, gaining insight, and forming hypotheses. It can be performed using a literature search, surveying certain people about their experience, focus groups and case studies. Descriptive research seeks to describe users of a product, determine the proportion of the population that uses the product or predict future demand for a product. Causal research seeks to find cause and effect relationships between variables. It accomplishes this goal through laboratory and field experiments. Conclusion: Marketing Research is valuable for generating new concepts, getting feedback on proposed advertising or gaining insight into attitudes and opinions about a new product. The distinction between marketing within a firms home country and marketing within external markets is disappearing. Cognizant of this, firms need to reorient their marketing strategies to meet the challenges of the global marketplace, in addition to sustaining their competitiveness within home markets. Social norms affect business practices, since they are a factor in the demand for a product. In the tobacco industry, for example, adolescents in developing countries are often the focus for the marketing and advertisement campaigns due to their vulnerability. Tobacco companies will often use symbols and fabrications in western society associated with smoking as a means of attracting these prospective consumers. A company marketing pork would experience less sales in an Islamic country, than it would in China, which is the worlds largest consumer of pork. Marketing research does not make decisions and it does not guarantee success. Marketing managers may seek advice from marketing research specialists. It is important that research reports specify alternative courses of action and the probability of success, of these alternatives. However, it is marketing managers who make the final marketing decision and not the researcher. The second observation, that marketing research does not guarantee success, is simply recognition of the environment within which marketing takes place. Consider the marketing problem of determining how much to spend on a promotion in order to achieve a given market share. The link between promotional expenditure and sales is not so direct. There are many more intervening variables, including: the medium used to advertise, the effectiveness of the promotional message, the length and frequency of the campaign, not to mention the many dimensions of the product, price and distribution. Comparative Marketing Management Structure Renowned Automobile Brands

Question: Describe about the Smooth Discussion Of The Comparative Marketing Management Structure Of The Four Renowned Automobile Brands? Answer: Introduction Marketing management is the company discipline that aims on the practical implementation of methods and techniques inside organizations, marketing orientation and on the management of the marketing activities and resources of a firm (Czinkota and Kotabe 2011). A study has been deployed concerning the comparison of the marketing strategies of four different car brands such as Ferrari, BMW, Audi and Mercedes with the help of the marketing management concept. Primarily, the STP strategies used by the selected automobile brands has been discussed to identify the issues are being faced by individual brands and who are compensating the issues to keep its business process stable within this massively competitive market. On the other hand, the most important factor that is the marketing mix tools utilized by the companies has been compared to make more clear recommendation for the brands that would help them in improving their marketing strategies. Company Background Ferrari is luxurious the sports car manufacturer. This company was established in 1929 by Enz Ferrari. It is the most powerful brand all over the world in terms of brand finance (Ferrari 2016). Audi is the German car manufacturer that produces, distributes, markets, engineers and designs luxurious cars. This company oversees around the globe. Audi is headquartered in Bavaria, Germany (Audi 2016). Mercedes is also a German car manufacturer. It is actually a multinational division of Daimler AG. Mercedes is popular for luxurious trucks, coaches, buses and automobiles. Mercedes is headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany (Mercedes-benz 2016). BMW or Bavarian Motor Works is again a German luxurious engine, motorcycle and automobile manufacturing company established in 1916 (AG 2016). The BMW headquartered is located in Munich, Germany. Comparison of Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning strategy (Referred to Appendix 1) The STP strategy explains the connection between an overall market and how an organization selects for competing in that market. The role of this strategy is to provide a proper guidance to a certain organization for the implementation and development of a suitable marketing mix tool. Being the top ranked car brands around the globe, Ferrari, Jaguar, BMW and Mercedes follow their own specific STP strategies. Therefore, it can be expected that the three brands must have some differences in their STP strategies because competition is more in the same industry. Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning strategy for Ferrari Segmentation Analysis The average owners of Ferrari may be male in their mid-fifty. It is very difficult to find any Ferrari that would be purchased as the customer is in requirement of the transport vehicle. Most of the Ferraris in fact are only the third or second car owned in a household (Davis, 2012). It is primarily for the extremely high price of the cars. It is not a rare occurrence apparently, that all understands as most people purchasing. Target Market The Ferraris are purchased as for the performance and status (Dickson 2014). Very less people can afford actually a Ferrari. However, this Ferrari is the most desirable automobile brand among all the people all over the world. People who have very strong background and high income try to highlight their status and also have an interest in the luxurious sports cars that belongs to the target market of Ferrari. Positioning Strategy Ferrari has been positioned in the prestigious segment of the automobile industry with a distinctive benefit depending on the exclusivity and high performance (Goldman 2013). Ferrari is symbol of status as a brand that consists of the extreme design, power and performance. Customers perceive purchasing a Ferrari as the consumers have made it. Motivators for the Buying Decisions Though, Ferrari manufactures cars with extreme design, power and performance but these cars cannot reach towards most people because of the high prices. If Ferrari can manage to cut down the prices of the cars then it would motivate the buying decision of the purchaser. Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning strategy for Audi Segmentation Analysis Audi actually uses the psychographic, demographic and geographic segmentation variables. Audis first decision is which cars in which countries such as smaller Audis are found in Europe as they drive smaller cars than the Canadian people (Hollensen 2014). In case of demographic segmentation, middle aged people are targeted by Audi. Audi manufactures cars for all the income group people around the globe. Audi mainly focuses for high class to upper middle class people as it is a very luxurious brand. Target Market The target market of Audi is based on the country and on the driving type. Audi mainly targets many countries worldwide (Karunakaran 2011). These cars are available for both the luxury use and the driving purpose. Positioning Strategy Audi enhance their market positioning by providing stress on several points as follows, By selecting suitable rivals such as BMW and Mercedes They launch some impressive and distinct cars than the brands like, BMW, Mercedes and Ferrari (Lancioni 2015). They find their USP for increasing their position in the automobile market. Motivators for the Buying Decisions Audis cars are affordable for the middle income people. Hence, this factor has definitely influence the buying decision of the purchasers. However, they should concern about the performance and the speed of the cars to motivate the buying decision. Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning strategy for Mercedes Segmentation Analysis Demographic of Mercedes Benz S class consists of mostly middle aged people, both male and female and adults. These cars are not very popular among the young generation as these are very expensive. Mainly Mercedes targets high or middle income people. Target Market Mercedes target market is the people of middle age of high or middle incomes. This brand mainly targets rich customers (LaPlaca 2014). Positioning Strategy This brand has developed a strategy for positioning as a producer of highly safe and reliable automobiles that result in a cost premium relative to similar global rivals (Levy 2012). Mercedes provide the outstanding solutions regarding their service related to the products. Motivators for the Buying Decisions Mercedes should be concerned on the improvement of their pricing decision that would help them to change their buyers buying decision from no to yes. Segmentation, Targeting and Positioning strategy for BMW Segmentation Analysis The major market for BMW, geographically are North America and Europe as these continents are widely industrialized and their residents are positioned financially for purchasing the cars of upper market (Lilien 2015). Target Market This brand utilizes a differentiated strategy that is they target particular automobile markets. BMW mostly targets the markets of Super Sports, Super Executive, Executive, Sports Convertibles and many others. Positioning Strategy BMW has positioned its image as quality automobile producer, technologically advanced, performance and exclusivity. The market of BMW is very competitive due to the numerous automobile manufacturers (Richter 2011). This brand has developed a positioning strategy as a producer of highly safe, reliable automobiles and high performance cars that help the brand to compete in such a competitive market. Motivators for the Buying Decisions This brand has developed a positioning strategy as a producer of highly safe, reliable automobiles and high performance cars. The same advice would also go for this brand that is they should be concerned in their pricing decision to motivate the buying decision of the purchasers. Fig 1: Perceptual Map for Mercedes, Audi, Ferrari and BMW (Source: Dickson 2014) Marketing Activities (Referred to Appendix 2) Marketing Mix Tools Marketing mix is business tool utilized by markets and in marketing. It is often essential while determining the offer of a brand or product and often is associated with Product, price, promotion and place. (Shapiro 2012) Marketing Mix of Ferrari Product The products of the brand are the super cars of high performance. However, the organization is widely into the merchandising of third party (Sheehan 2011). Pricing The brand priced at a premium range. Ferrari begins upwardly at prices of US $175000. People appreciate Vintage Ferrari cars in value and these are known to US dollars cost millions. Promotions The merchandising of Ferrari is the strongest promotion of the brand. Already Ferrari is enjoying immense awareness around the globe, even in the areas where the brand does not do any promotion (Davis 2012). However, this merchandising is implemented on a license and royalty basis to other brands. Place Ferrari has its exceptional Ferrari dealership that is spread over fifty two countries as of yet with the plans for expanding the dealership of Ferrari to other markets and countries (Ferrari 2016). Marketing Mix of Audi Product In early 1990s, there were some issues found in their cars but Audis new cars have mutation of much less consequences with their microprocessors due to the implementation of improved technology (Audi 2016). Now Audi offers a huge car variety. Price Audi has skimming or premium pricing. The pricing is fully justified looking at the brand image and the quality of the car (Dickson 2014). Audi is trying its best for rationalizing the price and providing options of innovative finance through the Audi Finance of their own making the attractive the purchase. Promotion Audi is involved in several ventures of sponsorship and sports, like sponsorship of some Italian football team. This brand manages for keeping itself in the public eye. Audi never participates in the mass marketing because of its niche market (Hollensen 2014). Instead of it, the automobile brand advertises only in the very premium component. Place Audi has a global presence and it continues to become the motor cars prolific seller. Audi has investments and set out prime plans for achieving goals of long term (Karunakaran 2011). The brand continues to develop in the Asian countries (Audi 2016). Baby Literaey Essay Student Sample

Baby Literaey Essay Student SampleA baby literary essay student sample is an easy way to get some practice writing your own. This sample will guide you through the whole process of writing a dissertation or research paper. In this article, we'll discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using a sample. The biggest advantage of using a sample is that it's free. It's free because you have no actual documents to read. It's free because you don't have to pay for high quality copies of those documents. It's free because you can take the sample with you wherever you go. In short, you can use the sample whenever you need to.The only disadvantage of using a baby literary essay student sample is that it's not enough practice for you to write a dissertation or a research paper. Even if it's good enough to help you write a research paper, it is not good enough to write a dissertation. You have to write the dissertation as if you're reading your dissertation. That means that your prose style ha s to be careful, precise, and structured. Even when you use a sample, you still have to go back to read your dissertation carefully. That said, a sample is useful because it's a great resource for writing in different document formats. It's great for word processing, notepad, presentation, and emailing. The disadvantages of using a sample are that you don't get a chance to 'try it out' before you go to the real thing. Plus, you're forced to stick to a fixed format and structure - something that's hard to do on your own. While you can't see how good you are with a sample, you can try it out yourself. If you're able to take notes at the same time you write, you can follow the example and go from one sentence to the next, and you can move in short sentences, beginning at the end and working your way back. Just be sure to make all your sentences at the same time and work your way through. Finally, while using a baby literary essay student sample can give you a head start on writing a disse rtation or research paper, you should also consider how much time you'll have to devote to your dissertation or research paper. Your baby lit will only help you speed up the process, not completely change it. If you're going to write a dissertation, then there are plenty of professional editing services out there.Overall, using a baby literary essay student sample will allow you to get some extra practice writing and it will give you a head start on a dissertation or research paper. The downside is that you're forced to use a fixed form and structure and that may limit your ability to write a dissertation or research paper. On the other hand, using a sample will let you make your own style and structure and that can certainly help you in the long run.

Application for Dartmouth College MBA †Example Essay

Application for Dartmouth College MBA – Example Essay Free Online Research Papers Application for Dartmouth College MBA Example Essay 1.Discuss your career progression to date.Elaborating on your short-and long-term goals, how do you see your career progressing after receiving a Tuck MBA? In 20xx, I might be in the middle of wrestle with my brain in terms of purchasing conditions such as local buyer, price, and market in the xxx-trading firm. I might have to decide how the change in the market will happen and also how the decision-making procedure should vary. My short-term goal is to conduct the business as a trading manager who can analyze current situation of market, grasp the tendency of future, and make accurate decision as well as to maintain and develop the flow of efficient business with all the partners in East Asia including Korea. My long-term goal is to establish a professional trading company, introducing new selling technique based on a cutting-edge mechanism such as Internet Web Site. After graduation in 19xx, I was granted job offers from big 4 enterprises including xxx Group. Nevertheless, I entered the xxx, one of the leading companies in Korea in the field of international marketing. I was stationed at the export department in charge of xxx. During that time, the trading companies in Korea were in the middle of making research on availability of the so-called positioning technique. That is, it was related to the prediction of the market tendency of the cargo to sell and purchase in timely manner. Despite the mandatory period of time for about 3-4 years to become a person in charge of one item in the trade department, I have visited xxx, xxx in Japan in order to check the data after I had worked for three months. Thats because I was highly recognized for my outstanding ability to conduct the business for standardized price variable and controls over the exchange rate fluctuation in order to reach the rational conclusion in an objective manner when I made a decision on the international oil price fluctuation and announced the research on the case of position deal such as xxx and xxx, which are the materials of xxx. After all, it became to be a source of research in the company. Based on my outstanding job performance, I wa s officially appointed as a person in charge of exporting the xxx, xxx whose annual turnover came up to x million dollars on the average. As a result, we were placed at the top in terms of sales in Korea because the sales in xxx sector revealed the increase of xxx% in 19xx compared to that of last year. In addition, the net profit has been increased around xxx %, compared to that of last year after I took in charge of this sector. Therefore, I became the main source of jealousy from my seniors and fellow workers. In addition, on May in 19xx, we were awarded about x million dollars worth of Tender under my supervision, which xxx Authority under xxx Government started in the process as World bank loan was made, beating 17 companies such as xxx,xxx and Japanese companies. Therefore, I was selected as the employer of the year in the trade department by achieving net profit of about xxx $ by delivering pre-positioned cargo from domestic industries. Since the January of 19xx, I have been in charge of collecting and analyzing the data on the Asian xxx market for the most part for x years, moving into the department of international marketing, which was newly built in xxx. During that time, I was able to enhance the capability related to the decision- making procedure through data analysis and the establishment of follow-up measures. Meanwhile, I helped the executives, who were stuck on the concept of traditional decision-making procedures, face the changes in business environment more positively by serving up continuous analysis on the business policy of advanced companies such as xxx, xxx, which were world leading companies. Due to high recognition of my vigorous efforts, I was able to develop the negotiation skill and the global way of thinking by participating in the xxx Seminar held in xxx in April 19xx. In addition, I learned the role of a team member and a coordinator in the sense that we can create synergy effect that migh t go far beyond the ability of each member based on the teamwork. I strongly believe these experiences will be great basis for me to participate in the international trading company in the short term as well as manage one of the international trading firms in the long term. 2.What qualities will the 21st century demand of its business leaders? To what extent have you demonstrated these qualities through personal and professional interactions? How do you envision your Tuck experience preparing you to become such a leader? On December 7th in 19xx, I had serious conflicts with a general manager in our department as hard as I should consider the resignation as a last option when our xxx heading for the xxx with x million dollars worth of xxx was caught on the rock. Through this experience, I realized the important fact that the role of leader is basically the coordination of the group rather than the implementation for the purpose of obedience. In this case, I also experienced the fact that leadership is derived from the fairest judgment by collecting and analyzing information after the accurate evaluation of the situation. At that time, I had conflicts with my general manager in terms of the benefit in the future and the cost at the present. The net profit in a xxx trading was about xxx$ worth, whereas it required xxx$ worth of expense to pay for the repair in place of missing ship owner after declaring general average. In the situation in which there was more possibility for ship owner to declare bankr uptcy, I powerfully insisted on managing all business in the burden of our company because I judged that there was grand anxiety to lose long-term customers if we spent more time. General manager, however, avoided making a decision which could serve as major damage in his career. Therefore he was wasting lots of time by ignoring my opinion although I was in charge of the matter. As a consequence, we were able to deliver the xxx to the buyer in xxx after refilling the vessel under the instruction of the boss who recognized the seriousness of situation through the interview with me around 5 months later. Since then, however, Buyer in got our firm to disqualify in the same bid in 19xx, which produced serious conflicts as to who was to blame inside the firm. No matter what is big or small problem, we are always in the situation where to find out the solution, and meet a great turning point in life by what decision we make. I found the important lesson from this case in the sense that the decision was not performed by the same fixed standard in every situation. In addition, it required accurate judgment of situation, the rational assessment of ones own capability, and the bold determination for the purpose of more desirable decision-making procedure. It is clear that only those who possess the well-balanced capability both in academic and practical context along with accurate prospect for the future are likely to survive in the sharp whirlpool of future economy. Along with the necessity of lifelong education, the rapid change in the environmental factors in worldwide economy, as you might see in the IMF economic crisis in Korea at the end of 1997, expedites my desire for the pursuit of MBA program. Based on this decision, I chose Tuck School for the following reasons: First, the primary reason why I apply for Tuck Business School is the small-scale classrooms and small group interactions. I will be able to learn the process of reaching the conclusion with reference to the specific topic based on the close interpersonal relationship with classmates and faculty at your school. I am sure that it will serve as the basis for practical business in the future. My fellow students and I will be able to learn the importance of cooperation in supportive environment that the Tuck School will provide. Moreover, diverse ethnicity of my classmates will extend the perimeter of my perspective on the global society. Secondly, Tuck School will enable me to achieve a series of processes such as strategic pursuing, negotiation, finalizing business deals with the limited data in an efficient manner. In this context, I believe it will be great basis for the establishment and management of a trading company, which is my long-term aspiration. Besides, I am confident that case-base approach, team field project, and computer simulations that Tuck School provides will serve up highly efficient standards in terms of the solution to the problem in actual business practice. Third, the program of Tuck School will serve as a decisive role in the leadership development in terms of the role not only as a field manager in the short term, but also a leader in the establishment of a trading firm in the long term. I strongly believe that it is quite clearly based on every single achievement of graduates of the Tuck School in each company. I would like to share the idea with the classmates in terms of the limited data analysis, success and failure in the process of rational prospect for the future, prompt decision and the leadership in every single program at Tuck School. 3.What are your interests outside your job or school? There is a saying sound in body, sound in mind, which means both body and mind are equally important. We, however, tend to keep our distance from the handicapped, or make light of them, since most of us judge a person by his appearance. I didnt belong to the category of exception, either. But a little incident during my military service came to alter my point of view. In September 19xx, I had an opportunity to serve for 4 days in a rehabilitation center for the disabled called xxx, located in xxx, run by xxx. On the first day, all I did was to help in a construction site under construction and harvest vegetables in a farm field. On the second day, I cleaned bathrooms and living rooms where the disabled were staying and helped feed them. I felt very awkward, in particular, in feeding the handicapped suffering from cerebral paralysis or apoplexy because I have never met such people before. Sincerely speaking, I spent the whole day as if I had only to complete the mandatory service rather than serve from the bottom of my heart. At that night, however, the lecture left a deep impact on my life. xxx said that out of the people he had met, the disabled were the most good-natured people but they wouldnt easily open their mind, for we treat them in an exclusive manner. I did not realize that I had not shared enough what I had with others until I heard him saying that a bitter ordeal suddenly strikes everyone of us, only the time being different. Since then, I have volunteered to support xxx with certain amount of money on a monthly basis and organized xxx society at xxx, helping people in a financial difficulty every other week. I have learned from this lesson that since we live in a community, it is impossible not to associate with others and we should share what we have. The primary reason I will pursue my goal in MBA might be to accomplish a better performance. Furthermore , I am confident that it would be a good motive to make a better society by sharing what I have learned in MBA program. 10 Argumentative Essay Topics on Medicalization as a Social Concept

10 Argumentative Essay Topics on Medicalization as a Social Concept If you need facts for your next essay on medicalization as a social concept, look at the items below: When medical problems are described in medical terms it is referred to as medicalization. This is a process by which non-medical situations are framed as something which requires medical treatment even if this is not true. This process can be detrimental to individuals because it causes otherwise normal human behavior to be rebranded as something like a medical condition. For many decades homosexuality was viewed as a mental illness. Even today one can find educational videos shown in public schools, and created by public schools, which emphasize the dangers of the homosexual medical illness. These videos talk heavily about how people who want to cultivate relationships with someone of the same sex suffer from a mental illness for which they must receive treatment. For many decades this belief, this medicalization of a simple biological aspect of humanity, one which is completely natural and has been observed in the animal kingdom since the beginning of time, led to a great deal of persecution and misunderstandings. It caused many people to believe that this normal human behavior was actually a severe medical condition. Bodily responses to regular processes such as inflammation or weight gain are viewed as problematic. This is another example of the medicalization of physical fitness. Because anyone who does exhibit a certain percentage of fat is viewed as unhealthy, this normal human state is now recognized as a medical condition. Now people, who are slightly overweight, are a regular target to diet and lifestyle suggestions and considered to have a medical condition for which medical treatment is required. This has led to a great deal of diet pills and eating supplements marketed to people of all ages. This has led to even more severe responses such as hypertension medication being given to children. People are immediately changing to the counter medications as though they were candy to treat simple ailments such as a swollen leg after a jog for a swollen shoulder muscle after lifting a heavy object. These are natural bodily responses to the everyday wear and tear that takes place on human bodies and yet the medicalization of such items has made them appear as though they were medical conditions which necessitate treatment. When the medicalization of any natural behavior becomes a socially accepted idea, it interferes with the regular processes of the human body. What might be a normal human function like converting simple and complex carbohydrates into sugars and therefore into insulin in the blood, become viewed as something detrimental or negative. Once it is viewed as a medical condition which requires medical treatment, people begin to take medications which interfere with the way the body works. This interference becomes permanent and leads to the additional reliance upon other medications which also interfere with natural behavior and human function. Rather than taking it upon oneself to monitor the food that is eaten, people will instead view their high blood sugar content as problematic in a single instance and take medication to stop the bodys production of insulin. While this is a natural occurrence that does take place in cases such as diabetes, many people today still bring this situation u pon themselves by taking medications. Simple illnesses which the body can fight naturally become medicalization gold. People will take antibiotics to help treat a simple infection which the body would have otherwise treated on its own. The more antibiotics are taken, and the more people fail to take them properly, the worse it is for the kidneys. When this happens the kidneys are no longer able to function properly which can result in renal failure. Any form of hormones taken by males or females are done so generally as a result of the medicalization of regular human behavior. And when this takes place it alters the body permanently. If the body generates a specific number of specific hormones each day, taking hormones in the form of medication will trick your body into believing that it has already generated the proper amount for that day. In doing so the body then cuts back on the total amount that it generates regularly. This means that if you stop taking your medicalized hormones your body will no longer produce the amount of hormones that it needs because it has been tricked into already thinking that it does. And when this happens the end result is that people have to stay on the useless medications for the long term which then leads to the same problem reoccurring and often in many other systems of the body simultaneously. The aging process has recently fallen victim to the medicalization of normal human processes. While aging was viewed as a regular event, something which was not only natural but beautiful, it is no longer so. Current social constructs of opinion leaders to believe that the aging process is bad and that all items associated with the aging process should be mitigated if not rectified. The result of this is that health care provides a variety of medications to treat the natural process of aging. All of these notions are unnecessary and yet people have to continue taking them for the rest of their lives once they start. Regular human emotions and reactions to their environment are natural human processes and yet thanks to the medicalization of health, many people now believe that being in touch with their emotions and responding in an emotional fashion to certain situation warrants unnatural behavior and medical treatment. In many cases depression is a mental state of being which can be controlled by the individual and which a perfectly natural response to certain situations is. Many times the emotional well-being of an individual impacted by changes in their life such as tragic events or hormones. And yet today these are viewed as negative things which must be rectified with pharmaceutical treatment. This leads to a series of negative ramifications in the form of secondary symptoms to the original medication prescribed. Individuals who are told that they suffer from depression because they are being sad about a few things in school are given medications. These medications cause side effects such as suicidal thoughts and weight gain. As a result people are being told that their weight gain must be rectified with additional medication. The suicidal thoughts must be halted immediately with another set of medications and both of these bring about new secondary symptoms and side effects the same as the original medication. This circle goes around and around for everybody who has ever been victim of medicalization. We hope these facts will find their place in your future essay.
